Landlord Own Washer Broke

address to the students Esland: Tonis Lukas, Minister of Education

Education Minister and leader of the Fatherland Union and the State Matters, the students and addressed teachers of his country:

"I greet you warmly in this traditional school day The day is not so common as it seems: last week there has been looting and mass riots in Tallinn for our otherwise quiet town very unusual . The reason these events is without doubt the mass psychosis that has led people to criminal behavior. But an even more important reason is the different attitudes of people to the historical events of the past. The history of Estonia is so complicated that even the Estonians are not sufficiently aware of it can have, much of which, or whose parents have moved to the second world war in our country.

Over the last two years we talked a lot about the Tõnismägi Monument. This monument was built by Soviets after the war in the middle of town to carry out his side propaganda events and counting the occupied people commemorated to remember who won and who lost. This is the symbol of victory. But not for Estonians. For the Estonians it is a symbol of the occupation, since the victory of Soviet forces brought with it a wave of crimes against the population. Mass repressions were to continue. The best known is the deportation of spring 1949, during which were towed over 20 000 people from their homes, many of them women, children and old people. Many of them have died in Siberia or in forced labor camps. During World War II, Estonia lost a quarter of the population that fell, were deported or fled. This is one of the worst losses, The loss compared with any of the peoples of Europe. In every Estonian family there are people who were killed or deported. My grandmother and grandfather were killed, although they were simple farmers. The murderer had the same Mundir on how the soldier in Tõnismägi .

I do not play down the disaster that has brought the German Nazism to other peoples, (Fascism is the authoritarian regime in Italy). Estonia has officially disapproved of the crimes of Nazism, just as the crimes of communism. Estonia has suffered from both under occupation both nationalism, as well as under communism. The Estonians had in years of war Mundie of both armies who, while they had but tried to Estonia to fight, not for one or other ideology. Last week, the protesters chanted in the streets "! Fascists fascists," they tried to offend the Estonians. And they did. The history, just like this day, we should not see black and white. An educated person can see the undertones. The victory over Germany was very important but we must not underestimate the importance of other war crimes and occupation of the independent states.

What is happening to the Tõnismägi monument worth suffering. This monument is a of which the beginning of the 90s were retained for reconstruction of the Estonian Republic for its artistic value. That decision can be unique may consider: usually decided categorical about the fate of such monuments. The Soviets, for example, during the postwar repression destroyed for all the Estonians important monuments, including the War of Liberation! They were destroyed and have no trace. In this case, it's all about the apportionment of the funerals of the fallen on the cemetery and the apportionment of the monument in an undamaged condition.

clear that announcements of the planned excavation in Tõnismägi people have worried, but it does not justify long the mob violence, Ausräubung the shops, the rioting, the beating up of citizens and the pins of dangerous situations. Because of the riots, the government has taken the Republic of the decision to flip the monument to the war cemetery. This cemetery in the middle of Tallinn rest soldiers from different eras, including the Soviet soldiers who fell during World War II. The monument is there Tõnismägi eingnommen a beautiful and fitting place. In the near future where the fences and roads can be created. For technical reasons, this work is not until the 9th of May may be concluded, but all who want to become the Möglichekeit have to lay flowers there. Why the monument was moved so unexpected? Because while it was in the middle of the city, it was used for provoking the violence and riots. The agitators have known for sure what they were doing when they called on the Russian-speaking young people to have auszuschreiten against their own state. The monument itself was not important to them, they would only do harm at any cost to the Estonian state, Estonia to bring honor and international reputation. Some wanted to destroy and steal only.

In response to the riots in the city center, the government was forced on Thursday to remove the monument from its place, thus the provocateurs to take the opportunity to gather their forces there and to disturb public order. Originally, only the excavation was planned to determine who and where buried under the monument, and also relocate the remains to the cemetery so that people do not walk around on the graves.

Dear Students and teachers! I am sure that you disapprove of the crimes took place and mass riots. A particularly serious crime, the resistance against the actions of the police, which has as its sole objective to safeguard the security of lives and property of citizens. to throw a stone at a police officer is a crime for which one can get to jail. All participants in the riots that had previously been convicted and served unfortunately as a poor role model for students to know it quite well.

I hope that students who had participated in the riots were not aware of what they did. They had fallen into an unhealthy zeal, and were exploited by the people who use teenagers in their political games. Besides the family, schools have a large role geselleschaftliche, and so I expect you, our teachers!

Dear students, if anyone of you is keen to make in your school, please, send me an email.
