report on a bitter night, innocent in Estonian police custody.

On Friday 27 April 2oo7 against 2o Clock was my son Lucas and I take advantage on the way home from the town hall square, where we met with several friends from different countries (USA, Canada, Shanghai, Sweden) for the nice weather to our holiday apartment in the Liivalaia 26 . To this end, we had to cross the Vabaduse väljak. There was a greater Police force assembled to provide anything. What exactly was I was not clear and the police probably did not quite clear, because apparently everything as usual to day in this place at this time. Suddenly, however, immediately taken us several policemen and threw ourselves on the floor in a police van, where some people were already lying around. Reasons for this drama were themselves blocked out on issues with the profound words, "it was none of us". That strikes me as the Estonian version of the respect for human rights to be.

We ended up later in a fairly large room, the most un-plastered walls of rubble were. Otherwise the room was largely without furniture. Ultimately, then were found there about 2oo people, of course, with cable ties so drastic tied up, that a normal blood flow was no longer assured, again, were of times forty, times fifty harassed heavy with "rubber truncheons and batons armed police officers and masked special forces, to out to the edge of torture. Spontaneously and indiscriminately beat them for no apparent reason for the presence of "insurgents" field. I could see even stick 11 such operations up close, until the blood flowed and paramedics had to come, just as it also happened to me even and is difficult to recognize on the attached images. They also thrashed some time so for me that my new shirt was torn to pieces here. My son Lucas, it fared no better in these African methods that I have in the Sudan and Uganda to witness many times. One can also see these consequences to us clearly on the attached images. Apart

nothing of the fact that more than half of inmates rather a were helpless and made violent demonstrations hardly capable impression and was not drunk, as it would in the vernacular and the official propaganda, like the police hopelessly few exceptions overwhelmed poorly trained and visible. They proved their strength with a goal and unplanned violence against the captured. Of de-escalation measures had not heard all of them anyway.

Now we were more than ten hours in detention, without knowing why, to drink, there was of course nothing was on the question of a toilet answered not at first, after all, we were tied on the back and on the floor to sit condemned. Rise was immediately punished by beatings or Dismiss the legs. Some police officers were doing to excel in such brutal and were ever in passing one or the other against the body, not just for legs, as I was once a fairly coarse and purposefully entered into the private parts.

So I had enough time to observe the goings and exactly as I said, most were capable of physical (age) or medical ailments not to their own violence, but this was the poorly educated Uniform not detect it.

Such a treatment of people with great dignity, like a foreign word and against all rules of human rights in civilized countries at least. None of the officers was wearing a name tag and was on my multiple questions after me again made clear that its name did not concern me. I asked some of the "punishment" for their names and few dared it is to call all their names for fear of later reprisals, as is so common in totalitarian states, as they told me. All gave the Igors, Vasily's, Yuri's, Valentine's, Alexander's, or even a few lost Estonian Estonians `s there.

At 6 clock in the morning I was then discharged as flat voice, as I was raped earlier in the evening, without a word of explanation or even apology. When I asked how do I get to go home, they said, hinting that this was my problem, I had indeed come.

Police in Estonia can still make just what she wants, communist, the old way. Since it is an already difficult on the side of a distinguished and to make democratic Estonia when you will be asked where they come for the blue and bloody spots on the body.

All in all I'm pretty disappointed with the methods, such as Estonian authorities to deal with your friends and strangers. One should as far as possible to Estonian police, at least when you innocently make a wide berth. I dare I be trusted to give such a Ursteil, I live not only for more than five years here, but have more than 14 years in all corners of humanitarian aid for the Red Cross, Malteser Hilfsdienst, St. John's help and for my country, the Federal Republic of Germany 4o years was done and after all federal and later state officials officially seconded to Estonia. So I can to some agreement. I thought again of a deliberate democracy, only one knows in detail yet, looks like that. - Just as these days, at least not fully out.

The worst of it is what comes next. In newspapers and on radio is distributed pushing that one should not worry this, because if they were just so anti-social excesses, alcoholism and drunk. That is not true enough, but that claim the inside as well as the foreign minister and the so-called public Rechtsantzler bold, it would be no irregularities in the police is simply a lie. Are you not use the office worthy. You should be ashamed.

But while the politicians are in good company and the stupid masses just take it down.

All is well put together more irony than actual, serious policy of the day! published

report on the sad events of one night, innocent in prison.

Friday, April 27, 2007, about eight o'clock, I and my son Lucas returned home, Liivalaya 26, Town Hall Square, where we are, on the occasion of beautiful weather met with many friends from different countries (USA, Canada, China, Sweden). To get home, we had to cross Independence Velyak.Tam now for something has been exposed to the police cordon. For what it is, I could not understand why the police seem around too, since this area was all exactly as well as there at this time is usually the case. Unexpectedly, we have been attacked several police and threw us into a police truck, where there were a few people. Our questions about the reasons for the dramatic action so we thoughtfully answered that they say "it's not our business." Apparently, this is the Estonian version of respect for human rights.

So we found ourselves in a fairly large room with neoshtukaterennymi walls, part of the rubble. Furniture in the room almost was not. In the end we had accumulated there for about two hundred of cords so tight that the blood could not properly circulate. We were engaged in forty or fifty well-equipped with rubber truncheons and sticks police "engaged" on the verge of torture. Offhand, bezvyborochno and without any apparent reason every now and then they started beating captured "insurgents." I have personally observed in the vicinity on my own 11 such attacks, such that the blood flowed, and were caused by nurses. These bumps and I tasted, as seen in accompanying photographs. In the end, I was so beat that of the new shirts were only tatters. My son Lucas got no less. Such methods I have seen in Sudan and Uganda. Implications such manners are clearly visible in the photographs.

More than half of collared produced rather helpless impression than impressed aggressive demonstrators, and certainly no way they were drunk, as if that many, including the official propaganda, would not want to. Police the same except for a few exceptions, were obviously poorly trained and with the whole situation simply could not cope. They showed their power by aimless and sporadic violence. Methods of de-escalation in any case they seem to have never heard.

So we sat for more than ten hours without a clue as to the basis of what considerations have been taken away freedom. Drink to us, of course, were not allowed, and questions about whether it is possible to us in the toilet, generally did not answer. We have been sentenced sit on the floor with his hands tied behind their backs. Attempts to get up immediately stopped by blows or podsekaniem feet. Some police officers have proved particularly cruel and did not shun from time to time to strike not only the legs but also in other parts of the body, I was like, sighting and quite hit hard in the groin.

I had enough time to watch all the action, and as I said, most would have been in force, for example, age in general not able to just look at this poorly trained police officers could not.
Such treatment of people is unworthy and violates all human rights, at least in civilized countries. None of the policemen had no name tags, and after many questions from my side, I had clearly stated that as their name, does not concern me. I tried to learn the names of several "prisoners", and only a small fraction dared to tell me your full name, according to them, for fear of before the subsequent prosecution, as is common in totalitarian states. All this was Igor, Basil, Yury, Valentina, Alexandra, and a couple wormed between Estonian Estonians.

About 6 o'clock in the morning they let me go, without any explanation or apology . My question, I now get home, I told succinctly, saying that "this is my problem, because once I came here." Police in Estonia can do whatever she wants to the old Communist habit. And when you ask where did you get bruises on his body and bruises, the language does not turn to call Estonia-developed democratic country.

In general, I'm pretty disappointed by the methods used in Estonia in relation to their own and others' citizens. Estonian police should be avoided, even if you have nothing to blame. I think I can afford such a statement because they do not only live here for five years, but and 14 years engaged in humanitarian assistance in many different countries, including the Red Cross, in the ranks Maltezianskih Assistants Help Yohanitov and in my country, the Federal Republic of Germany, for 40 years was federal, and later regional officials, and has been officially delegated to Estonia. Therefore, I have something to compare. I believed in democracy as desired here, but now it is unclear what is it specifically manifested. In any case, it is shown last few days.

But the worst thing is not it. In newspapers and on radio continues to assert that all this is no longer even contemplate, as we are talking about illegal actions of anti-social personalities, alcoholics and drunken brawlers. This in itself is not true, but that is also Minister of the Interior Affairs, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the so-called Chancellor for Legal Affairs professed boldly asserted that no violation by the police it was, so it is quite simply a lie. They are unworthy of their positions and should be ashamed of. However, the policy again act in concert, and silly crowd still naively believe.

All together it's just a farce, rather than really serious policy!
